True Potential | June - December 2012 | Clarehall Shopping Centre, Dublin 17

It is a collection of paintings – scanned, turned into a virtual gallery and wrapped in vinyl around an empty shop unit in Clarehall Shopping Centre.True Potential is a collaborative partnership project between PrettyvacanT Dublin and Virtual Shopfronts.
Prettyvacant Dublin used its existing social media channels to issue an open call for artwork, curating the show before partnering with Virtual Shopfronts to locate the paintings on blank canvasses in a 3D-rendered gallery that enveloped the vacant unit.
The resulting show, featuring 3 Irish artists and 16 artworks, is Ireland’s first virtually-curated show to be exhibited on the exterior of an empty building.
The collaboration embodies the spirit of True Potential. We often think of that which carries potential as new and upcoming, undiscovered and latent. But true potential lies in something that can adopt and adapt, time after time; something that can be reversioned, repurposed, and reassigned.
The show seeks to demonstrate the potential of Ireland’s artists. The show also aims to demonstrate there is potential not only in the new, but also in the old; dormant and unsung qualities that lie silent, waiting for a moment to be unleashed.
The True Potential artists are; Elaine Leigh, Natasha Edmondson and Sean Healy.
A selection of artwork by each artist are displayed below and for Sales, Enquiries and Further Information contact Louise on
